Tomah Health, Versiti Blood Drives Save 1,200+ Lives

Area residents who donated blood at Tomah Health / Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin drives in 2025 helped to save 1,292 lives.
Versiti account representative Garron Bowers said 432 units of blood from 460 donors were collected during six drives held throughout the year. “These drives play a critical role in ensuring that our local hospitals have the blood they need when patients need it most,” said Bowers. “The Tomah community has shown exemplary support for this mission, and I want to sincerely thank them for their remarkable generosity.”
Of the donors in 2025, Bowers said 34 were first-time donors, helping to strengthen the community’s blood supply. He added that on average Tomah residents donated 72 units at each two-day blood drives in 2025.

Last year, 404 blood products were collected from 355 donors during five drives, which went to help save 1,026 lives.

Tomah Health and Versiti will kick off 2026 blood drives with a two-day drive scheduled January 14 & 15 at Recreation Park in Tomah.

“The need will continue into 2026, and I am confident that the residents of Tomah will once again rise to meet it,” added Bowers. “Please encourage those who do not donate to join us at the next drive.” He said new donors are always needed to help support area hospitals.
