Labor and Delivery

Labor is an individual experience and at Tomah Health it’s our goal to make yours special. While some moms want the experience to be as natural as possible, others prefer a more structured approach. Tomah offers the latest obstetric techniques in a warm, caring environment.

Two comfortable and spacious labor and delivery rooms are available, with a birthing tub in a separate area for those choosing this delivery option. The private postpartum rooms have a single or a queen-sized bed, and your support person is welcome to stay with you. Fetal monitoring, epidurals, and Cesarean births are available.

Our entire staff is prepared to meet your needs. They are trained in the latest obstetric techniques, including Neonatal Resuscitation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. If you want to breastfeed your baby, staff is available to support you and provide educational videos and materials.

OB Controlled Access

Tomah Health Women’s Health Services Department has controlled access to the department 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Family members and friends will need to verify themselves to Tomah Health Women’s Health Services staff before entering the department by using the telephone located right outside the Dept. that automatically dials into the unit.

Our staff will verify with the parents to ensure we are providing time for resting, breastfeeding, or participating in education.
