Tomah Health is one of just five hospitals in Wisconsin and 61 in the nation to earn five-star ratings for both overall quality and patient experience according to a recent report by Becker’s Hospital Review, an industry leading print publication.
Becker’s compared CMS’ Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, which captures patients’ experiences during a recent hospital stay, with the agency’s Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating, which factors mortality, safety of care, readmissions, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
Among the 250 hospitals with five stars in patient experience, only 24% had an overall quality five-star rating, according to Becker’s.
