Site work is underway on construction of the new Tomah Hospital on the city’s south side. Crews from Gerke Excavating of Tomah began preparing the nearly 40 acre parcel on Tomah’s south side adjacent to Interstate 90 along Gopher Avenue, for the estimated $66-million 140,000 sq. ft. three-story hospital and proposed medical office building.
Hospital CEO Phil Stuart said the site work signals the unofficial start of the project. He said an official groundbreaking is schedule Sept. 28. “While there is still a great deal of behind the scenes planning, this certainly is an exciting time for the organization, our staff and the community as we look to continue our mission to provide superior health care services,” said Stuart.
It is expected the project will be completed in the summer or early fall 2019.
